On June 6th, 2019 the Child Care Board (CCB) held it’s Quarterly Meeting with private child care operators from around Barbados. The meeting served to address a number of serious concerns affecting the continued operation of several private Child Care Centres in Barbados.

A large number of Child Care Operators were issued letters from the Child Care Board which arose an urgent need for them to attend this special meeting. During the meeting, the Vice President of BAPCCO Ms DePearl Nurse Worrell expressed several of the numerous challenges affecting the Operators, so as to impress upon the CCB, why greater consideration should be given to the sector which provides a valuable service to the nation’s children and their parents.

Present at the meeting were BAPCCO member operators, Child Care Board staff members and some members of the CCB’s Board of Management, along with several private child care centre operators from around the island.
